About Us

In the year 2018, the Ministry of Education (MoE) through MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC) launched the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) program in collaboration with AICTE for Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to systematically foster the culture of innovation and start-up ecosystem in education institutions. The main aim is to create a vibrant local innovation ecosystem. Start-up supporting Mechanism in HEIs. Prepare institute for Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements Framework. Establish a Function Ecosystem for Scouting Ideas and Pre-incubation of Ideas. Develop better Cognitive Ability for Technology Students.

IIC's Initiatives


Innovation ambassador program

Building in house human resource capacity to engage, manage and generate I&E: training and mentoring support to students & faculties.


Impact lecture session

Funding support to HEIs located far away from the I & E ecosystem to organise impact lectures - institutes performance improvement.


Innovation contest

360 degree experiential learning program for potential student innovators and entrepreneurs students.


Mentor-mentee program

Peer group mentoring support with funding support- institute improvement & inter institutional collaboration.

Institute’s Innovation Council

Ministry of Education (MoE) , Govt. Of India is focussing to strengthen the culture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship ecosystem across all Higher Education Institutions to promote and support the innovations and sustainable start-ups from students. MoE is implementing various programs such as Smart India Hackathon, International Hackathons, Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) and establishment of Institution’s Innovation Councils to channelize the creative ideas and entrepreneurial potential of Indian youth to build innovations and Enterprise.
